かろうじて見えている頭を狙ってみる。

俺にはそこまでの射撃技術がないのを忘れていた。

9時 鹿の気配が濃くなってくる。近くにいるはずだ。
ゆっくりと探しながら歩く。
50mほどの雪山の陰から1頭の鹿が出てきたが見えなくなった。
また出てきたので弾を込める。
木の枝の中で止まる。
姿は見えているが木の枝が邪魔だ。
当たる気がしたので木の枝越しにバイタルに発砲する。
鹿が軽やかに走り去る。
当たる気がしたが、当たらなかった。
気持ちだけでは弾は当たらない。
忍び猟を続けよう。
9時45分 先週と比べると鹿の気配が少なくなった気がする。
気温が上がったせいなのか。
ふと見ると100ｍ先の尾根付近にメスの鹿が歩いている。
弾を込める。
鹿は歩きながら木の枝の陰に入っていく。
3度目の正直で枝の中の鹿に発砲しようか考える。
今日の俺は技術もなければ運もないのを思い出した。
樹林から鹿が出てくるのを待つ。
鹿が出てくる気配はない。
忍び猟を続けよう。
10時45分 車に戻る方向に移動しながら忍び猟をしている。
この辺りには鹿がいるはずだ。
ここに鹿がいなければ家に帰って風呂に入ろう。
静かに鹿を探す。
50ｍ先で鹿が走り出す。
オスの鹿が3頭確認できた。
山の小高い丘のせいで鹿の姿が見えない。
見通しが悪い場所で発見するのが遅れた。
急いで追いかけるが鹿の姿は見えない。
気が付くと沢を越えて反対の斜面を登っている3頭の鹿の姿が見える。
距離は250ｍ前後で止まる気配はない。
かなり急いで100ｍ追いかけた。
撃たれまいと走る鹿は必死だ。
「家に帰って風呂に入ろう」と考えている俺とはやる気が違う。
忍び猟を続けよう。
11時20分 100ｍ先の斜面下方向に鹿の姿が2頭見える。
動く気配はないが1頭はこちらを見ている。
鹿からはこちらの姿は見えないが音に反応して人の気配を感じているのだろう。
ABOLTに弾を込める。
バイタルに狙いを定める。
引き金を絞る その場に鹿が崩れ落ちる。
もう一頭は落ちていく鹿を見ているが逃げる様子がない。
親離れした雄の鹿のようだ。
もう一頭も角はないがタテガミがあったので雄だ。
オスの頭数制限があるので撃たない。
12時20分 鹿の解体が終了した。
車に帰ろう。
