図書館が2度目のホームレス危機に…。

現在NZの経済低迷と助成金の減額

家賃高騰の煽りを受け

活動拠点の閉鎖危機に直面している。

The Japanese Children's Library, located on Auckland's North Shore, has its roots in the Inch Library, a quaint little space that began as a small shed in Ms. N's garden, aptly named for its size.

For the past 18 years, the Japanese Children's Library Japan Kauri Education Trust (JKET) has been cherished by the community, expanding to house an impressive collection of 14,000 books. Many families have frequented the library for generations.

Sadly, this beloved library is now facing a significant challenge as it confronts a second potential homelessness crisis. 

Due to the economic downturn in New Zealand, cuts in funding, and escalating rental costs, the library is at risk of losing its operational base.

We sincerely hope that they can find a way to continue their vital work.
